The heart of the Japanese Alps
Hakuba is to Honshu what Niseko is to Hokkaido. It's the most international resort area on the main island, and the amount of diversified terrain found along the Hakuba Valley is unparalleled in Japan. Hakuba's long courses were chosen for the alpine events during the 1998 Winter Olympics, and the dramatic peaks attract serious backcountry riders. There is also a nice variety of accommodations and restaurants in the area.
